Durante mis casi 30 años como artista plástico, los temas que me motivan han sido consistentes: belleza, misterio, color, forma, espacio y tiempo. Describo la serie de piezas que estoy creando como “combinaciones pictóricas” con la intención de generar una profunda sensación de misterio dentro de una visión articulada. utilizando materiales que reflejan luz, espacio y los espectadores mismos. Una exploración relacionada involucra piezas expuestas en cubos de hojas de Plexiglas. A veces doblo las hojas, yuxtaponiendo los cubos con objetos esculturales, a veces torcidos. Esto trae al observador múltiples dimensiones de visualización: primero, una vista tridimensional de la pintura combinada; segundo, la experiencia de verse a sí mismos y su entorno reflejado dentro de la pieza; tercero, la capacidad de ver realmente la realidad física del espacio y las aplicaciones cuánticas involucradas. Así, mis lienzos de pintura son escultóricos, experimentales e innovadores. El trabajo resultante habla tanto de la teoría cuántica como de la esencia de la espiritualidad. El trabajo habla del ahora.
During my almost thirty years as an artist, the issues that motivate me have
been consistent: beauty, mystery, color, form, space and time. I describe the
paintings series I am currently creating as “painting combines” intended to
create a profound sense of mystery within an articulate vision, utilizing materials that reflect light, space and the viewers themselves. A related avenue of exploration involves paintings upon clear Plexiglas sheets and placing these within clear Plexiglas cubes. Sometimes I bend the sheets, juxtaposing them with sculptural objects within stacked, skewed cubes. This
provides multiple viewing dimensions for the observer: first, a three dimensional view of the painting combined; second, the experience of seeing themselves and their surrounding reflected within the art; third, the ability to actually see the physical reality of the space and quantum applications involved. Thus my painting canvasses are sculptural, experimental and innovative. The resulting work speaks both to quantum theory and the essence of spirituality. The work speaks to the now.
