Mónica Álvarez Herrasti (Ciudad de México, 1974) es artista visual. Su trabajo se ha presentado en Italia, Honduras, España, Cuba, Alemania, Estados Unidos y México en más de 40 exposiciones tanto colectivas como individuales. Ha sido reconocida con el Estímulo a la creación artística otorgado por el Fondo Municipal de Cultura de Saltillo, 2006; fue becaria del Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes a través del Programa Jóvenes Creadores 2004-2005, y el programa Estudios en el Extranjero 2000-2001 y 2001-2002; recibió el Estímulo del Instituto Nacional de Cinematografía de México, 2004. Fue beneficiaria del Programa de Residencias Artísticas FORCA para artistas del Norte de México, 2012 y acreedora al apoyo de Proyectos de Inversión en la Producción de Pintura Nacional del INBA, 2012. Su trabajo ha sido seleccionado para formar parte del catálogo Arte Laguna Prize, 2015 y el Catálogo Conmemorativo de los 20 años del Programa Jóvenes Creadores del FONCA. Sus trabajos forman parte de las exposiciones permanentes del Museo de Artes Gráficas de Coahuila, en México y del Museo de San Juan de las Alazanas, en Arteaga, Coahuila.

She’s recognized for her stimulus to artistic creation granted by the Municipal Culture Fund of Saltillo, 2006; she was a fellow intern of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts through the Young Creators Program 2004-2005, and the Study Abroad Program 2000-2001 and 2001-2002. She received encouragement from the National Institute of Cinematography of Mexico, in 2004. She was a beneficiary of the FORCA Art Residencies Program for artists from the North of Mexico (2012) and was awarded the support of Investment Projects in the National Painting Production of INBA, 2012. Her work has been selected to be part of the Arte Laguna Prize catalog, 2015 and the 20-year Commemorative Catalog of the Young Creators Program of the FONCA. His works are part of the permanent exhibitions of the Museum of Graphic Arts of Coahuila, in Mexico and the Museum of San Juan de las Alazanas, in Arteaga, Coahuila.
